Starkit Quick Installation Instructions

Starkit has been designed keeping in mind most hardware that abounds, so it is highly likely that if your hardware is not too uncommon, Starkit will work on your machine right off the bat! Nonetheless, you should check if your hardware works with Starkit and meets the minimum system requirements.

If you will install Starkit on a dedicated computer, after downloading the Starkit installer you will need to create a bootable USB stick. Click the link below for instructions

Alternatively, if you want to try Starkit but you don’t have a spare computer to run it on you can install it on your existing computer as a Virtual Machine using Virtual Box. Click the link below for step by step instructions.

Intel Dual/Quad-Core CPUs >2GHz

For testing: 2 GB of system memory (RAM) and 50 GB of disk space is enough.

For production: We recommend minimum 8 GB memory  or 16GB for best performance. We recommend 500 GB of disk space or more depending on the amount of your data.

Step 2 - Starkit Activation with Screenshots

When installation is complete you will see a screen showing your Starkit Appliance IP address. This looks like the following example

Use this URL on any web browser using any computer on your network to access the Starkit web interface to complete the setup of your Starkit Appliance and activate it with your license key. You are almost done. Here is what to do next:

 

Step 4 - Add your email accounts with screenshots

You can use Starkit to collect mail from other email services like Gmail or Hotmail or from any other POP3 or IMAP email account. Just follow the following steps for each email account that you want to add and get mail from.
